Name: Aragorn

Alias: Estel, Thorongil, Dúnadan, Strider (Telcontar), Wingfoot, Elessar (the Elfstone), Envinyatar (the Renewer), Isildur's Heir, King of Gondor and Arnor

Parentage: son of Arathorn II and Gilraen of the Dúnedain

Marrried to: Arwen Undómiel, daughter of Elrond Half-Elven

Children: Eldarion and unspecified number of daughters

Dates: Third Age 2931 - Fourth Age 120

Notes: Played in the Lord of the Rings films by Viggo Mortensen (who does a fine job of it too)

Why is he irresistible?: What's not to like? From the first moment Aragorn appears, wrapped in a cloak with long muddy boots in the Prancing Pony, he oozes charisma and mystery. He has always fascinated me, and through The Lord of the Rings he develops from a mysterious Ranger to a man respected by all who meet him. He can handle himself in a fight yet turns healer afterwards. He can capture the heart of an immortal Elf enough that she is prepared to give her immortality up for love of him. He appears as if on wings of myth and legend out of the Sea, bearing the arms of the Kings. And added to all that, he's got the looks I go for. Tall, dark, and handsome in an angular way. Arwen, you're a lucky woman.
